BERLAGEBLOKKEN WORDEN MORGEN (DINSDAG 14 DEC) ONTRUIMD! Vandaag (Maandag 13 Dec) hebben omwonenden een voorlichting brief gekregen van de gemeente. "Morgen, dinsdag 14 december, worden de panden op de hoek Javastraat, Javaplein, en Balistraat, de zogenaamde 'Berlageblokken' ontruimd....als blijkt dat de bewoners de panden niet vrijwillig verlaten, dan zal de politie met de Mobiele Eenheid ontruimen." Dus de bewoners van de Berlageblokken hebben minder dan een dag om alles te regelen. Er vindt vanavond om 20u een noodvergadering in de Berlageblokken plaats; veel mensen zullen hulp nodig hebben om hun spul te verplaatsen en een plek te vinden waar zij kunnen blijven. Wij weten ook dat er minstens een familie met kinderen is dat geen nieuwe woning hebben. Kortom: veel mensen op straat zonder woning! Hulp nodig!

AANKONDIGING: Twee regelmatige Berlageblokken activiteiten:

• Elke week op dinsdag(20.00u tot 22.00u), vindt een huurspreekuur voor de buurt plaats, in de Berlageblokken infopunt.
• Elke week op woensdag, "Berlageblokken Buurtcafe", van 20.00 tot 23.00u. Kom langs bij voor de laatste informatie voor bewoners en buurtgenoten, en natuurlijk ook een hapje en een drankje!

STEUN DE BEWONERS VAN DE BERLAGEBLOKKEN - Nieuwe handtekeningenactie

BERLAGEBLOKKEN TO BE EVICTED TOMORROW (TUESDAY 14 DEC)! Today (Monday 13th Dec) people living in the neighbourhood of the Berlageblokken received an information letter from the city council. In short, the letter says that the Berlageblokken will be evicted tomorrow and that if people do not leave voluntarily, the riot police will be unleashed. Hence, the residents of the Berlageblokken have less than one day to arrange their departure. There is an emergency meeting at 8pm tonight in the Berlageblokken; many people will need help moving their stuff and findng a place where they can stay. We know that there is at least one family with children that has nowhere to go. In short: many people on the street without a living place! Help needed!

ANOUNCEMENT OCTOBER 2004: On monday 25th October 2004 there is, at 2pm, a court case between Ymere and the inhabitants of the Berlageblokken. Click here for a media release, in Dutch. (RTF format.) A second press release has now also been received, click here. (Also in RTF format, approx 600k.)

WEBSITE UPDATED 11th JULY: The monument permission permit (in Dutch) can now be downloaded from the archive section. Also, information over two new regular Berlageblokken events (see below). Further, a heap of new relevant newspaper and magazine articles can now also be read in the archive section.

ANOUNCEMENT: Two regular Berlageblokken events:

• A 'renters advice hour' (huurspreekuur) for the whole neighbourhood takes place every tuesday (8pm to 10pm). It takes place in the Berlageblokken info point.
• Every week on wednesday, the "Berlageblokken neighbourhood cafe", from 8pm until 11pm. Come along for the latest informatie for residents and neighbours, and naturally also a snack and a drink!
